Have to say, it's really nice to read this piece in the week after my, now fiancée, proposed to me. I'm the only one of my friends and peers who is doing it, and it feels all the more significant and beautiful for it. It's the decision of my life and I've never been happier
Gina and I are already using your metaphor. “Oh, he’s still on the island”. We will very soon just use 🏝️ in our texts in a knowing king and queen kind of way.
Memento mori- and Penelope. You guys are really on your way. We feel so lucky to have been there to witness even though alour friendship was even younger than your engagement at the time. By the way, although you two are smarter than Cyclops, you don’t need to be because you know Who you serve as you serve each other. When Cyclops comes as it must, He will be there with you.
Also by the way, this is a very good story that is going to resonate with many good humans. I laughed and I cried, truly. But you got one thing wrong: the wedding and goodbye one town and hello to another, and the funeral home and the urgey (Gina word) dog who was your Jackson Chamber of Commerce welcoming committee emissary is a TOTALLY awesome pilot, not a final episode. But my LA is showing.
Keep us posted on the cub reporter team product, you Mr and Mrs Lane-Kent.
It's the Queen who makes the King, otherwise he's some sort of tyrant because he seeks to take (which is the illusion you mentioned). She recognizes his sincerity, his choice for wholeness or unity, ritualized through marriage. This is an act of devotion.
He sets down his spear, puts aside his scheming and chooses love. He sees her. And knows her to be free. Freedom as love in action.
What is more free than abundance? What she bestows to him through kingship. Fractalized, able to restore a house, a family, a community, a nation, a world.
Bravo.
Congrats!!
Damn… this is powerful.
